It’s time to be friendly to myself.
Currently, my relationship with myself feels more like one of those long-distance friendships where I’ve let too many months pass by without sending a check-in.
So, hey, Girl, How ya doing? How can I be there for you, my friend?Thanks for asking! I’ll tell you how you can come back into my life and be a friend to me. Try this:
Say hello to me in the mornings and acknowledge how excited you are to spend the day with me!
Listen to me. For example, when I say I’m ready for sleep or would rather stay in for one night, I try to respect it.
Trust me and remember all of my good decision-making skills!
Spend quality time with me. No screens, no disruptions.
Be considerate and kind to me, I’m only human
Remember our pact of unconditional love and acceptance
Don’t bog me down with only negative emotions (I’ll stop calling you if all you do is worry and complain!!)
Help me celebrate my successes!
Trust that we are best pals for a reason
Let loose and let’s have some fun together!
I’m going to try to be a good friend to myself and follow the above 10 techniques as a way to be present with and kind to myself!
I’m sure our friendship will blossom from this intentional relationship building and then I’ll be able to rely even more on her.
