Hereās what you need:
š Whole TomatoesĀ (a great way to save overripe ones from the compost!)
š§ Cold ButterĀ (trust me, it makes all the difference)
š§ White Onion
š§ GarlicĀ (fresh or paste)
š Protein PastaĀ (I love chickapeapastaĀ ā the sauce soaksĀ right in!)
⨠Nutritional Yeast (for that cheesy, umami kick)
šæ Italian SpiceĀ & Salt
How to Make It:
1ļøā£ Dice onions & sautĆ© in olive oil.
2ļøā£ Blend tomatoes with cold butter & garlic into a chunky puree.
3ļøā£ Pour the tomato and butter mixture into the pan with the onions & let it simmer.
4ļøā£ Add salt & Italian spice, then cook until warm & bubbling.
5ļøā£ Pour over your favorite pasta shape & top with a generous sprinkle of nutritional yeast.
